Arlington National Cemetery is a large military cemetery located across the Potomac River from the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC.  It is the final resting place for over 300,000 casualties from the American Civil War, World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Iraq War and Afghanistan conflict.

President John F. Kennedy is one of many famous people to be buried at Arlington Cemetery.

Visitors can either tour Arlington Cemetery independently or join one of several informative group tours.

The land that is now Arlington Cemetery was once owned by Confederate General, Robert E. Lee.

Arlington National Cemetery can be access by light rail from downtown Washington.  A bus tour of the 624 acre facility costs $7.50 per person.
