White House

The White House in Washington DC is home to the US President and his family.  It is also the principal workplace for him and his advisors.

Public tours of the Whitehouse are available for American citizens.  Tour requests must be made to one's member of Congress.

The house was constructed in 1782.  It was burned by the British during the War of 1812 and subsequently rebuilt.

The White House is located on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington DC.  The Washington Monument is located directly south of the building.
